  • B Tech in Biotechnology programme offered by National Institute of Technology Durgapur commenced its serivces from the year 2005 with an intake capacity of 60 students. It is a four years full time undergraduate course which is divided into eight semesters. The department of Biotechnology has a team of experienced, talented and skillful faculty members who provides both classroom teaching and practical instructions. The department also promotes sharing of knowledge through summer schools, conference, seminars and symposia. Since its inception the department is performing consistently well both in academics and extra-curricula.

  • Eligibility

    The minimum academic qualification for admission is "pass" in the qualifying examination (10+2 or its equivalent) and having secured pass marks individually in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects; and any one of following optional subjects.
     
    1. Chemistry
    2. Biology
    3. Computer Science
    4. Biotechnology
     
    Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1987 are eligible for admission in 2012-2013 session. However in case of SC, ST and PH candidates, the upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years.
    OR
    The candidate must be in good mental and physical health, and should satisfy the standard physical fitness criteria of the Institute (to be examined and certified by the Medical Officer of the Institute).
